Soul Menace has long been recognized as an institution in Jakarta’s Urban Club Scene. Since 1998, this collective of well –established individuals have been at the forefront of both Club-Based and Street Events, and have since strengthen the presence of an unstoppable urban movement.

The Core music of Soul Menace events are not limited to Hip-Hop but also incorporate other music genres, ranging from House, EDM, Baltimore, Funk, Nu-Disco and more. As of today, Soul Menace has promoted a range of Signature Events, focusing on each individual club’s characteristics, therefore able to sustain a community that appreciates good music.

Soul Menace has laid the foundation for Jakarta’s Hip-Hop / R&B community since 1998 during the “Golden Era” of Urban music, and to revitalize those nostalgic times, we created an event called “REWIND – The Classics” at PARC 19 Kemang, which is currently is being nominated for Paranoia Awards 2014 – Serial Event of The Year. Our longest running event series “RewindnPlay” (Two Time Winner of Paranoia Awards Serial Event of The Year), combines today’s electronic music anthems such as EDM and Deep House at BLOWFISH along with our second area at PURO, where we emphasize the newer generation of Hip-Hop/R&B such as Twerk and Trap music, creating a new experience for the younger crowd by giving them two rooms with completely differing genres.

For our more mature audience, we have “Funk The House” at DRAGONFLY, a bi-monthly serial event which showcases old and new House anthems blended with today’s Deep House and Electro hits and provides a great experience for a wide range of music lovers. At DOMAIN, we have “Bassdrop!” and staying true to its name, we drop Bassy sounds mixed with Pop and Commercial favorites to redefine the Jakarta Mashup Dance Scene. The Success and Longevity of these events can be directly attributed to the talented lineup of DJs and MCs on the Soul Menace roster as a collective.
